The Walt Disney Company is reportedly ditching Slack after a July data breach exposed over 1TB of confidential messages and files posted to the company's internal communication channels.
Hackers claimed to have gained access to the data after buying authentication cookies for an EA internal Slack channel from a dark web marketplace called Genesis.
A critical vulnerability in the popular Slack collaboration app would allow remote code-execution (RCE). Attackers could gain full remote control over the Slack desktop app with a successful exploit — and thus access to private channels, conversations, passwords, tokens and keys, and various functions.
